today there was a “flash mob” set up by the seniors because it was their second to last day so they blasted the macarena over the loud speaker and did the dance in the main lobby but our headmaster knew about it so it wasn’t even funny but whilst walking past the elevator i found out why they really did this so called “flash mob”

The only part of this particular film adaption of Les Miserables that stuck with me is Javert’s death scene, because it had me howling with laughter. No amount of poignant monologing or sad music can salvage this directorial choice.

Because Javert has been a robot the whole time. That’s why his whole system crashes when confronted with contradictory imperatives. And that’s why he doesn’t fucking float.

3. I like the idea that the predecessor to HAL9000 was just a dude who had a particularly rigid sense of morality and had a breakdown when he couldn’t decide whether he was the good guy or not. HAL 2000 was definitely a very ethically ambiguous but ultimately well intentioned bonobo.
